Our Battle Engine & Methodology

Every matchup on this site is calculated using authentic game engine mechanics verified against official mainline titles from Generation 1 through Generation 9 (Scarlet and Violet).

How We Calculate Damage Multipliers

Incoming attacks multiply across both defending types simultaneously. If an attack deals 2x damage to Type 1 and 2x damage to Type 2, the final factor is 4x quad weakness. When a resistance meets a weakness, they neutralize to standard 1x damage.

The 0x Immunity Rule: If either defending type possesses a natural type immunity to an incoming move (such as Flying against Ground attacks), the final damage is always 0x. Natural immunities always override weaknesses.

Abilities and Terastallization

Our tools factor in defensive abilities like Levitate, Earth Eater, Flash Fire, and Wonder Guard. In Generation 9 mode, our calculator simulates how Terastallization completely overrides base defenses with your chosen Tera Type.
